Caring for Nature and Community

Students will learn agricultural skills in a hands-on way, with farm projects like:

  • Large scale vegetable growing
  • Harvesting crops
  • Milking Cows
  • Animal Husbandry
  • Woodwork
  • Metalwork
  • Making cheese, butter, salamis and bread

Agriculture is both an art and a science. Cultivating soil, growing crops, and raising livestock are essential for our survival and well-being. It includes preparation of plant and animal products for your own community use and is a sustainable and natural way of sharing resources. Outdoor activities like these are great for mental health and exercise. Encouraging each other is a large part of learning the practical skills required for other areas of study. Agriculture at Augustine Academy forms bonds and friendships.

  • Gardening provides outdoor exercise

  • Caring for animals is our way of benefiting them and society

  • Planting and growing gives a sense of fulfilment and accomplishment

  • Build community and share in a practical way
